As a competitive athlete and former racing driver, I know that the difference between winning and losing never lies in strategy — it lies in the derivation of execution and in the precision of its implementation. Over the past ten years working on projects at Swiss banks and insurance companies, I viewed my work through this lens — whether building AI/ML platforms for global financial institutions, automation projects with hundreds of digitalised processes, or digital B2B products with end-user touchpoints for insurers. The gap between strategy and execution has appeared in every organisation I have had the privilege to know from the inside.

In the new era of artificial intelligence, this gap is now more visible than ever. This novel digital disruptor is frequently met with a hasty strategic change rather than a considered examination of existing capabilities for AI potential and their synthesis into a strategy — one that would thereby already carry a solid foundation for execution.
